Abstract: The single crystals of Bi, xSb„2Te3+5 {S = 0.0 - 0.90) compounds were prepared by a Bridgman method from Te rich liquyd. The anisotropic properties of these compounds were studied. The Seebeck coefficient is reasonably isotropic for all the samples along the a- and c-axes. The resistivity is smaller along the o-axis than the c-axis. In the samples with S&gt; 0.10, their anisotropy ratio of 4 / 4 reaches 2 - 4 . The carrier concentration n is larger for the n-type samples than the p-type with S=0 and 0.05.</description>

Abstract: V205-Zr02/MCM-4I catalyst has been prepared, charactevzied by by IR, XRD, N2 adsorption, HKTEM, TPR and applied as a bifimctional catalyst to oxidation of a-pinene via a-pinene oxide using 02/H20? as an oxidant. Besides main epoxide products, the reaction leads to formation of allylic oxidation products like verbenol and verbenon. To suppress the formation of byproducts, the control of effects of temperature, time, solvent is essential for conversion of a-pinene to a-pinene oxide.</description>

Abstract: The use of low cost adsorbents, agricultural byproducts (rice-bran, sugar- cane dregs...) has been investigated as a replacement for current costly methods of removing heavy metals from solution. Natural meterials or waste products from certain industries with a high capacity for heavy metal removal can be obtained, employed and disposed of with little cost. Modification of the sorbents can also improve adsorption capacity.</description>

Abstract: Waste water of Hanoi milk company was treated by oxidation method using CaOCl2 and Cao. The optimum conditions involving: pH, time and weight of CaOCl2 and CaO were studied. The obtained results were applied for the removal s2', organic compounds, smell and color in the milk waste water. The treated water is colorless and ordorless, s2" was completely removed, COD was reduced frorm 2120mg/l to 64 mg/1, which meet the requyrements of the waste water discharge standard.</description>
